Okay, recently I've had a lot of interest in my research into source-code comments. A bulk of my research was carried out during my doctoral dissertation study: a four-month long case study in which I followed 5 programmers as they transitioned a mainframe data system into an online data management system.

Attached here is my dissertation. It's a bit long--okay, really long--and a bit dry--okay, really really dry--but it has a lot of ver valuable literature-based, and empirical research concerning comments. Sure, it's written like a dissertation should be written, but if you can get past that it might prove interesting.
